About the role

  • Collections Coordinator processing recoveries, payments, refunds and reconciliations for Tarion, Ontario’s new home warranty organization. Supporting Finance collections through Workday and administrative reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all collection activities are logged in Workday Financial and account statuses are properly coded
  • Apply recoveries, credit card payments, security drawdowns and write-offs to appropriate Workday Financial accounts
  • Provide administrative support to the Collections team
  • Prepare collection notices, reports, requests to trace, requests to sue and proofs of claims following bankruptcy notices
  • Perform monthly accounts receivable reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assist the Contact Centre with homeowner fee refunds
  • Investigate collection system-related issues and submit and maintain IT helpdesk tickets
  • Process daily cheque deposits
  • Manage post-dated cheques and investigate discrepancies
  • Report to the Manager, Finance

Requirements

  • Community College Diploma/Certificate or equivalent in Administration or Finance
  • Strong computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounts receivable, month-end reconciliation and collections
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an administrative function, preferably within a Finance department
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick learner with ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to continuous learning
  • Must complete all remote work from a home office within the province of Ontario
