About the role

  • Electrical Designer responsible for designing industrial control systems at University of Manitoba. Interpreting requirements, designing panels, and ensuring quality adherence in fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of customer requirements, project related drawings and specifications.
  • Control system design including PLCs, motor controls, control circuits and instrumentation.
  • Component identification, verification, and selection for the design.
  • Control panel fabrication and design drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Control panel fabrication instructions and the related Bill of Materials.
  • Preparation of submittal documents, completion of O&M manuals.
  • Verification and test of fabricated control panels to ensure adherence to the design.
  • Modification of design drawings and related information to match the As-Shipped design and As-Built drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, speaking, and writing English.
  • Knowledge and ability to use AutoCad & Microsoft Office programs.
  • Understanding of electric circuits.
  • Basic understanding of motor control circuits.
