About the role

  • Governance and Control Intern supporting TD Insurance’s data governance, quality, and risk management activities. Analyzing datasets, maintaining policies, and improving operational controls.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, lead, monitor, and/or assess quality management and risk management activities for identified TD Insurance business units
  • Assess and improve quality to address operational, regulatory, and financial risks
  • Document and maintain data governance policies, standards, and frameworks
  • Support data committees by preparing documentation, discussion summaries, and follow-ups
  • Review data-related materials for quality and compliance
  • Analyze datasets, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline data processes and implement governance best practices
  • Create communication and educational materials to increase stakeholder awareness and adherence to governance principles
  • Create reports to understand and communicate trends and performance
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge site accuracy and user experience
  • Support projects, initiatives, and innovation
  • Work on ad hoc tasks while balancing regular priorities

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Analytics, Data, Mathematics, Computer Science, System Engineering, Business/Commerce or related field
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
