About the role

  • Senior analyst strengthening TD’s Canadian Commercial Banking governance, AML, and regulatory controls. Leading testing, issue management, remediation, and advisory support.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial Banking control environment through AML and regulatory compliance subject matter expertise, governance oversight, and control testing
  • Identify and assess regulatory and risk impacts
  • Support issue management and remediation
  • Provide actionable guidance to business partners and leadership
  • Manage and support business governance and control programs across multiple areas and stakeholders
  • Lead periodic refreshes of AML and regulatory compliance management controls
  • Review processes and controls to identify trends, related issues, and control gaps
  • Interpret guidelines, standards, policies, and analysis results to support senior-level decision-making
  • Manage intake and assessment of risk incidents and potential AML and regulatory issues
  • Coordinate issue tracking and lifecycle management, including escalation, reporting, remediation monitoring, and closure
  • Provide governance and control advice on Commercial Banking AML and regulatory compliance matters
  • Manage sensitive information, correspondence, and confidential matters
  • Execute governance and control testing activities
  • Report testing status and progress to management and complete deliverables within timelines
  • Support colleagues and provide training, coaching, and guidance

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience in governance, risk, controls, compliance, audit, or a similar environment within the banking or financial services industry
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills, with experience collecting, organizing, and assessing information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient knowledge of governance, risk, and control procedures, practices, and methodologies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in audit, AML, regulatory compliance testing, or first line controls testing, with in-depth knowledge of banking business processes
  • A degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Professional certifications related to risk, audit, or compliance, such as CIA, CPA, or ACAMS
