About the role

  • Software engineering intern improving TD’s core banking, servicing, and customer engagement platforms. Designing, coding, testing, and deploying system enhancements within Technology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining processes for issue prevention
  • Participate in problem determination and timely incident resolution
  • Work with business partners to define and develop detailed business requirements
  • Design, develop, and deploy system enhancements
  • Perform unit and system integration testing
  • Document system implementation and code deployment plans
  • Participate in proofs of concept for new technologies and document findings
  • Provide recommendations with full usability analysis
  • Conduct system research, analysis, detailed design, and problem resolution
  • Respond to business and user inquiries about business applications
  • Troubleshoot application defects and determine root causes and resolutions
  • Test and debug programs using appropriate tools
  • Participate in peer code reviews
  • Apply SDLC and project management methodology to development tasks
  • Follow secure coding practices
  • Keep current with technology trends and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools, and techniques
  • Work as an equal member of a TD Technology team on meaningful assignments improving technology platforms such as core banking, customer servicing, and customer engagement

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant technology program, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, Financial Analysis and Risk Management, Computing, etc.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • 4-month work term commencing January 4, 2027 and ending April 23, 2027
  • Applications must include a resume of maximum 2 pages and a school transcript
  • Understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Understanding of OOP concepts and SOLID principles
  • Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of at least one programming language and relational databases
  • Familiarity with one or more listed technologies/programming languages, databases, operating systems, protocols, and frameworks
  • Familiarity with Git/source code management
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies
  • Must reside in Canada and arrange relocation to a Toronto/Mississauga office
  • Monday-Friday, standard business hours
