Full Stack .Net Developer contract for a top 5 banking client in Toronto, until Oct 2026, 3 - 4 days/week onsite.
About the role
- Business Data Engineer building reliable data pipelines while partnering with stakeholders for impactful analytics at Telesat. Requires 2–5 years of experience in Lakehouse environments and Power BI development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
- Develop complex SQL queries and data models for reporting and analytics
- Support integration of data from multiple enterprise systems and cloud platforms
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and Product Owner to gather and translate reporting needs into technical specifications
- Support data validation, troubleshooting, and report performance optimization
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides
- Assist with Power BI administration, workspace management, and access controls
- Support AI-driven data intelligence, reporting, and analytics initiatives to enhance business insights and decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, SQL, and data visualization best practices
- Strong experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and databases
- Experience translating business requirements into technical reporting solutions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI Dev or Data Analyst) are a plus.
