About the role

  • Network Design Specialist designing TELUS core telecommunications infrastructure in Burnaby. Improving Appian workflows, analyzing network data, and supporting Central Office project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop proficiency in core Inside Plant Engineering tasks under mentorship of senior engineers and design specialists
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Appian-based front-door platform
  • Analyze and visualize network data using Looker Studio to support design decisions and identify optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective Central Office project delivery
  • Mentor and train team members and internal customers on engineering processes, tools, and best practices
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to automate processes, eliminate manual work, and drive team transformation
  • Liaise with internal customers to understand needs and negotiate delivery methodologies

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in physical network design, engineering, or a technical team environment
  • Proficiency in the Google Suite of applications
  • Familiarity with Appian or other low-code/no-code platforms
  • Familiarity with Looker Studio or similar data visualization tools
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ownership mindset with a results-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to develop expertise in telecommunications networks
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Great-to-have: prior experience with network and inventory tools including NetCracker, SAP, and AutoCAD
  • Great-to-have: background in DevOps, agile methodologies, or software development practices
  • Great-to-have: experience with programming, scripting, RPA, APIs, or AI applications in a technical environment
