About the role
- Freelance translator converting Taiwanese Traditional Chinese investment-banking commentary into English for TransPerfect. Proofreading and finalizing client documents under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Translate documents from Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) into English
- Proofread documents pertaining to Investment Banking clients
- Create and finalize the end product before delivery to the client
- Collaborate with managers and Project Managers
- Support translation needs of international clients
- Perform translation and proofreading work under tight deadlines
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)
- Specialized in Investment Banking – Market Commentary
- Acute attention to detail, spelling and grammar
- Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines
- Asian time zone preferred
- Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement
- Applicants must complete Translation and Proofreading tests
- Applicants must undergo a background check
- Relevant Translation and Proofreading experience
- Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or an equivalent degree including significant translation training, from a recognized institution of higher education; OR 2 years of translation experience and a college degree; OR 5 years of translation experience and no college degree; OR a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body
- Latest CV must include relevant Translation and Proofreading experience and proposed translation per-word and proofreading hourly rates in USD
