Family physician guiding clinical assessments for BC’s PRA-BC program. Supporting internationally educated physicians through screening, quality assurance, policy, and partner collaboration.
Responsibilities
Support various components of PRA-BC’s clinical assessments at the direction of the Clinical Director
Screen applicants to ensure suitability for entry to the program
Coordinate quality assurance for Clinical Field Assessments (CFAs)
Confirm appropriate CFA facilities and supports are in place for candidates
Ensure CFA assessment reports meet program requirements
Inform policies and procedures relating to CFAs, assessor training, candidate screening, and CFA evaluation tools
Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external partners to achieve PRA-BC’s mandate
Inform recommendations to a Steering Committee comprised of the program’s key partners
Work as part of the Clinical Leadership team, reporting to a Clinical Director and collaborating with Associates, program operations leaders, staff, and partner organizations
Requirements
Medical Degree
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience
Experience in medical administration, preferably in a leadership capacity
Familiarity with the PRA-BC program, preferably with experience as a PRA-BC Assessor
Hold an unrestricted license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
Familiarity with theories and principles of adult teaching, learning and assessment
Awareness of local and national context relevant to International Medical Graduate (IMG) practice readiness
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to conduct oral presentations to small and large audiences, both in person and virtually
Professional comportment, including discretion, confidentiality, and patience
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Flexible/adaptable to change and able to work in a team environment
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs, including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel, and other relevant software and online systems
Must live within the province of British Columbia
