About the role

  • Team Lead overseeing nurse recruitment operations for British Columbia’s public health employers. Supervising staff, managing partners, projects, policies, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners, including the Ministry of Health, health authorities, regulatory bodies, educational institutions, professional associations, federal agencies, community representatives, nurse candidates, and recruitment bodies
  • Directly supervise and support designated staff, including task prioritization, performance feedback, evaluations, recruitment, development, and disciplinary actions where necessary
  • Foster a positive, trust-based team culture
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations and implementation of annual workplans
  • Coordinate activities, balance workloads, and ensure adequate staffing coverage
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Lead assigned projects, including project planning, partner engagement, and implementation
  • Provide expert guidance on program policies and procedures using specialized health-sector recruitment knowledge
  • Collaborate with the Manager to create and revise policies
  • Advise internal teams and external partners to support consistent, informed decision-making
  • Provide leadership and oversight of program operations, partner engagement, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage daily operations and program risks
  • Support provincial recruitment and retention efforts
  • Contribute to program effectiveness through strategic planning, project leadership, and service excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ recent related experience, including supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with database software, pivot tables, graphing, formulas, dashboards, and reports
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to be sensitive to context
  • Proven ability to plan and execute projects with stringent timelines
  • Ability to handle vast demands and rapid change
  • Ability to organize workload and understand and apply relevant Acts and Regulations
  • Ability to deal with conflict, assess and establish priorities, and take action
  • Passion for recruitment and customer service
  • Keen interest in making an impact across communities in British Columbia
