About the role

Senior Scientist leading product development for Philadelphia Cream Cheese and process cheese. Overseeing complex projects and collaborating cross-functionally in a dynamic R&D environment.

Responsibilities

Lead development and execution across multiple projects ranging from low to high technical complexity for the business unit
Manage multiple research assignments/projects concurrently
Deep knowledge of commercialization processes and the activities required as a technical/R&D lead
Collaborate with cross-functional teams acting as the lead product developer
Provide updates to cross-functional teams; identify obstacles and propose solutions
Use strategy to guide technology choices and unlock innovative solutions
Translate research outcomes into meaningful business objectives
Promote an innovative approach and influence cross-functional partners
Mentor and coach colleagues and collaborate with others inside and outside your immediate team
Lead and complete product testing, qualification, and commercialization in both lab and manufacturing environments

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s a plus) - Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry
4+ years of experience in the dairy sector, preferably cream cheese, processed cheese, or yogurt
Proficient in core dairy operations – fluid milk, cultures, separation technology, homogenization, pasteurization/heating
4+ years of product development and commercialization experience in a consumer-packaged-goods (CPG) environment or equivalent
Project management experience, technical expertise, and strong knowledge of food science/processing
Excellent communication, influencing, project management, and problem-solving skills
Highly motivated and able to multitask across projects of varying complexity
Willingness and ability to learn new product categories and/or processing areas
Willingness to travel up to 30%
