Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in developing, deploying, administering, and maintaining HSE standards and various continuous improvement programs;
- Assist, advise, and train managers on HSE-related matters;
- Collaborate with departments to develop strategies to eliminate occupational and environmental accident risks;
- Ensure the plant's compliance with applicable regional environmental and safety standards by conducting audits and inspections and maintaining appropriate documentation;
- Participate in accident investigations to accurately identify root causes;
- Develop and promote the use of accident prevention tools: risk assessments, safe work methods, job safety analysis (JSA), etc.;
- Design and deliver HSE training;
- Serve as a point of reference for the interpretation and application of current policies, laws, and procedures;
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field (ideally in occupational health and safety)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety
- Strong training and communication skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with managers to provide effective guidance
- Resourcefulness, sense of urgency, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with a methodical approach.
