Responsibilities
Provide leadership in developing, deploying, administering, and maintaining HSE standards and various continuous improvement programs;
Assist, advise, and train managers on HSE-related matters;
Collaborate with departments to develop strategies to eliminate occupational and environmental accident risks;
Ensure the plant's compliance with applicable regional environmental and safety standards by conducting audits and inspections and maintaining appropriate documentation;
Participate in accident investigations to accurately identify root causes;
Develop and promote the use of accident prevention tools: risk assessments, safe work methods, job safety analysis (JSA), etc.;
Design and deliver HSE training;
Serve as a point of reference for the interpretation and application of current policies, laws, and procedures;
Requirements
University degree in a relevant field (ideally in occupational health and safety)
Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety
Strong training and communication skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with managers to provide effective guidance
Resourcefulness, sense of urgency, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
Excellent organizational and administrative skills with a methodical approach.
