About the role
- Senior SDET building scalable automation and AI-assisted testing for Trackforce’s physical security SaaS platform. Driving CI/CD quality, reliability, and engineering-wide testing standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex, scalable test automation frameworks, test processes, and validation strategies
- Write clean, maintainable test code and scripts for repeatable, reliable automated testing
- Identify automation gaps and provide input on software feature testability
- Perform code reviews of automation scripts
- Research and evaluate testing tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies
- Lead, plan, and execute comprehensive software testing initiatives
- Drive test-driven development and behavior-driven development practices
- Influence test automation architecture and design decisions
- Write and implement user acceptance test plans with Product and QA stakeholders
- Contribute to testing policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Investigate, document, and resolve complex testing issues and defects
- Analyze flaky tests, diagnose root causes, and repair production or test-code bugs
- Develop testing documentation, including test plans, procedures, and bug reports
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps across the software development lifecycle
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior and mid-level SDET team members
- Lead adoption and evaluation of AI-assisted test generation tools
- Implement AI-powered first-pass pull-request review within CI/CD pipelines
- Develop reusable AI-assisted testing patterns and frameworks for the AI Guild
- Apply AI tooling to incident root-cause analysis and postmortems
- Contribute to quality-specific AI adoption metrics
- Ensure AI testing tools meet CISO-approved access-control, auditability, and data-handling standards
- Deliver an automation coverage and framework-maturity assessment with an improvement roadmap within 60 days
- Increase automated test coverage and reduce manual regression testing within 6 months
- Establish standardized testing practices within the first year
- Deploy at least one AI-assisted testing capability within the first year
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development or software test engineering, with a strong focus on test automation
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or similar
- Deep familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent
- Experience with API testing tools and approaches such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or similar
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar
- Experience with Agile testing methodologies, TDD, and BDD practices
- Solid understanding of software QA principles, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management
- Experience working in a SaaS product environment, particularly with web and mobile application testing
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating effectively across engineering teams
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement is strongly preferred
