About the role

  • Senior AI Engineer developing and scaling AI solutions for healthcare at Trillium Health Partners. Collaborating with teams and managing the lifecycle of AI projects in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director, AI & Digital Planning, the Senior AI Engineer will be responsible for using the latest AI tools to design, prototype, build, evaluate, and scale AI solutions including Generative and Agentic AI
  • Define and document architectural patterns, technical standards, and design decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop AI solutions
  • Embed directly within clinical and operational teams to identify automation and agentic opportunities
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions from design and development to implementation and sustainability
  • Lead AI integration and implementation efforts within the hospital, and with partners
  • Develop API endpoints and implement Model Context Protocols (MCPs) for exchanging healthcare information
  • Connect AI agents to core hospital systems via APIs
  • Design and implement techniques to optimize AI performance
  • Build reliability and safety infrastructure for AI systems in a healthcare environment
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with privacy, security, and responsible AI requirements
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues

Requirements

  • BS in computer science, engineering or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML systems
  • Python proficiency
  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping LLM-powered applications to production
  • Experience with at least one orchestration framework (LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent)
  • Experience with API design and integration.
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes
