Responsibilities
Lead and support aquatic environmental studies, predominantly at mine sites across Canada
Design and implement aquatic field programs
Organize, analyze, and interpret water, sediment, benthic invertebrate, and fish/fish habitat data
Prepare interpretive reports based on aquatic environmental study findings
Participate in technical meetings with clients, regulators, and other project partners
Participate in preparing proposals for new work
Requirements
Graduate degree in environmental science (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)
8+ years of relevant work experience
Experience assessing the effects of inorganic contaminants on aquatic systems
Experience with impact processes, sampling design, and interpretation of aquatic environmental data
Exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills
Experience in aquatic sampling and data analysis
Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and statistical packages
Experience in project management and client relationship building
Valid driver's license
Willingness to travel
Registration as a professional biologist in BC and/or Alberta is considered an asset
