Enrolment analyst supporting the University of Alberta’s student planning through research, forecasting, and business intelligence. Developing statistical analyses, projections, visualizations, and reports for Registrar leadership and campus partners.
Responsibilities
Generate, collect, analyze, and report data for enrolment projection and forecasting
Conduct research using internal and external data sources to support strategic and tactical planning
Monitor initiatives and statistical results and assess their impact on Enrolment Services, Enrolment Management, and student populations
Lead the identification of issues and development and sharing of complex operational data reporting and analytical methods
Respond to inquiries with evidence-based analyses for Faculties, Departments, Administrative Units, University and Registrar executives
Analyze enrolment trends across local, national, and international students and specific populations, including Indigenous students
Lead the Office of the Registrar’s business intelligence production
Develop, revise, monitor, and evaluate enrolment reporting needs
Deliver statistical and trend analyses supporting demand estimates, admission criteria, recruitment priorities, and student performance comparisons
Develop research projects, visualization tools, enrolment projections, presentations, and the annual enrolment report
Collaborate with campus partners on data products, methodologies, accuracy, consistency, and User Assessment Tests
Consult with senior executives and management to define analytical questions
Compare institutional processes and performance metrics against other institutions’ best practices
Review data compilations and reports for significant insights, validity, and reliability
Keep current with methods and tools for enrolment management and reporting systems and recommend appropriate approaches
Requirements
Related undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline
Excellent knowledge of statistical research, analytical methods, and related software/technology
Three years of experience conducting research and analysis, including information searches, selection, statistical compilation, and analysis
Expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis, preferably in a post-secondary environment
Continuous upgrading of software such as SAS, R, Python, Tableau, and Excel
Statistical and social scientific analytical skills that evolve with techniques and technology
Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and data specialists and provide leadership in information gathering, trend analysis, and predictive analysis
Strong ability to analyze data, suggest recommendations, and present results to senior management
Excellent written and oral communication skills for consultations and reports
Excellent time management and ability to meet strategic deadlines with accurate preliminary project-time estimates
