About the role

  • Research Associate coordinating 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurship research at the University of Alberta. Overseeing partner initiatives, community-based research, compliance, and knowledge mobilization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation of the REKH/CSEA research program across multiple partner organizations and research streams
  • Oversee partner research activities for alignment with project objectives, timelines, and funding requirements
  • Participate in leadership and project partner meetings
  • Monitor progress and report on research outcomes, risks, and emerging issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with research partners, academic collaborators, community organizations, and stakeholders
  • Facilitate partner engagement and communication
  • Identify implementation challenges and collaboratively develop solutions
  • Monitor research activities against milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements
  • Review research outputs for quality, consistency, and accountability
  • Maintain project documentation and contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate the Community-Based Research Stream, including research activities, timelines, ethics requirements, and stakeholder engagement
  • Contribute to data collection, analysis, evidence synthesis, and interpretation of findings
  • Coordinate dissemination of research reports, publications, presentations, and knowledge mobilization products
  • Prepare knowledge products and contribute to project-wide products
  • Maintain research records and ensure compliance with University, ethics, and funder requirements
  • Contribute to grant applications, progress reports, and research administration activities

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in areas such as research coordination, community-engaged research, research ethics, grant administration, or knowledge mobilization
  • Project coordination experience
  • Experience working with 2SLGBTQI+ populations
  • Familiarity with granting agency guidelines and restrictions
  • Ability to review and understand University of Alberta policies and procedures
  • Ability to travel to events, including out-of-province overnight events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and research/project management software preferred
  • Research experience working with entrepreneurs and business communities preferred
  • Required submission of a cover letter, CV/Resume, and list of references
