University of Alberta enrolment analyst forecasting and interpreting student data for Registrar’s Office planning. Developing reporting, visualizations, projections, and evidence-based insights for university leaders.
Responsibilities
Generate, collect, analyze, and report data for enrolment projection and forecasting
Conduct research using internal and external data sources to inform strategic and tactical planning
Monitor initiatives and statistical results affecting Enrolment Services and Enrolment Management
Lead identification of issues and development and sharing of complex operational data reporting
Provide evidence-based analyses and answers to inquiries from Faculties, Departments, Administrative Units, and senior executives
Analyze trends across local, national, and international student populations, including Indigenous students
Lead the Office of the Registrar’s production of Business Intelligence
Develop, revise, monitor, and evaluate enrolment reporting needs
Deliver statistical and trend analyses supporting demand estimates, admission criteria, recruitment priorities, and student-performance comparisons
Develop research projects, visualization tools, enrolment projections, presentations, and the annual enrolment report
Collaborate with campus partners on data-product accuracy, methodologies, and User Assessment Tests
Compare institutional processes and performance metrics with best practices
Review data compilations and reports for significant insights, validity, and reliability
Consult with the Registrar’s Office and University community to ensure studies and reports meet stakeholder needs
Keep current on methods and tools for enrolment management and reporting systems and recommend appropriate approaches
Requirements
Related undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline
Excellent knowledge of statistical research, analytical methods, and related software and technology
Three years of experience conducting research and analysis, including information searches, statistical compilation, and analysis
Expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis, preferably in a post-secondary environment
Continuous upgrading of SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Excel, and statistical and social-scientific analytical skills
Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and data specialists and provide leadership in information gathering, trend analysis, and predictive analysis
Strong ability to analyze data, suggest recommendations, and present results to senior management
Excellent written and oral communication skills for consultations and reports
Excellent time management and ability to deliver critical data, reports, or analysis within strategic time limits
