About the role

  • Graduate trader executing client FX and interest-rate hedges at Validus, a hedging-strategy and derivatives-execution firm. Monitoring portfolios, pricing trades and coordinating with clients, advisers and banks.

Responsibilities

  • Price FX Spot, Forward, Swap and Option transactions across multiple execution channels
  • Monitor client hedge portfolios using proprietary RiskView technology
  • Prepare market commentary and insights on FX and interest rate markets
  • Prepare and validate trade requests for execution by senior traders
  • Ensure accurate trade capture and maintain transaction record integrity
  • Monitor FX and interest rate markets to identify opportunities and risks relevant to client hedging programmes
  • Ensure transactions satisfy the best execution framework and internal trading governance
  • Manage banking-counterparty relationships to maintain competitive pricing, execution quality and market access
  • Support continuous improvement of trading processes
  • Undertake ad hoc analytical and strategic projects
  • Work with Risk Advisory, clients and banking counterparties to translate hedging strategies into executable transactions and maintain alignment with investment and risk-management objectives
  • Use TradeView and RiskView platforms for transaction workflow, hedge maturity management, transaction cost analysis, post-trade monitoring and portfolio oversight

  • Maintain accurate trade capture and transaction records
  • Apply best execution principles and internal trading governance
  • Monitor FX and interest rate markets
  • Manage banking-counterparty relationships and assess pricing competitiveness, credit appetite and execution quality
  • Support analytical, strategic and process-improvement projects
  • Work effectively with Risk Advisory, clients and global banking counterparties
