About the role
- Senior Integration Engineer modernizing Vancity’s secure financial infrastructure with Azure Integration Services and C#. Designing event-driven, compliant backend systems for a member-owned Canadian credit union.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and architect enterprise backend integration workflows using Azure Integration Services and C#
- Design and support event-driven architectures using Azure Event Hubs and/or Kafka
- Define message schemas, ordering, retries, dead-letter handling, and resiliency patterns
- Build scalable object-oriented backend services using Azure Serverless and cloud-native design patterns
- Optimize integration solutions for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Implement monitoring and alerting with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Ensure integrations meet enterprise security and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with MuleSoft and other integration-platform teams on hybrid solutions
- Drive improvements in integration patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Maintain technical documentation and provide troubleshooting and support for integration environments
- Apply financial-services processes, data-integrity principles, and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate emerging tools and approaches in event streaming, orchestration, automation, and AI-assisted integration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of backend software development experience
- Strong expertise in C# and Microsoft Azure
- Strong object-oriented programming skills
- Experience building scalable backend services
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures, messaging, and asynchronous processing
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services: Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, and API Management
- Proficiency with Azure Serverless architectures and cloud-native integration patterns
- Understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, and secure integration practices
- Familiarity with financial-services, security, compliance, and audit requirements
- Experience with Azure Event Hubs and/or Kafka
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
