About the role

Senior Software Engineer building shared systems, APIs, and libraries for Vanta’s security and trust management platform. Partnering across engineering teams to improve developer experience, scalability, and architecture.

Responsibilities

Design and build high-quality, scalable systems and shared libraries used by multiple engineering teams
Build shared customer-facing platform components or internal TypeScript-first abstractions and foundations
Partner with product engineering teams to understand needs and translate them into documented APIs and services
Drive technical decisions and influence architecture across team boundaries
Define and uphold engineering standards for shared components, including consistency, performance, and security
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning
Write and maintain documentation for systems and libraries
Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture as the company scales

5+ years of backend or fullstack software engineering experience
Focus on platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems
Experience building shared APIs, services, or platform components used by multiple engineering teams
Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queue systems such as Kafka, SQS, or pub/sub
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and design stakeholders
Track record of shipping high-quality, maintainable code and making sound architectural decisions
Openness to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
