About the role

  • Software Engineer building Roblox Lua gameplay systems for Voldex’s NFL Universe Football, a live sports experience made with the NFL. Shipping scalable features, monitoring live performance, and improving player experience for millions of daily players.

Responsibilities

  • Build and launch features for millions of daily players
  • Own and deliver gameplay features end-to-end, from implementation through release and iteration
  • Break down product requirements into technical tasks and provide reliable estimates
  • Write clean, performant, maintainable Roblox Lua code
  • Design and implement scalable, performant, maintainable systems
  • Partner with designers, artists, and producers to build high-quality gameplay experiences
  • Monitor live features, analyze performance, and proactively address issues
  • Improve codebase quality, development workflows, and system reliability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering practices
  • Playtest features and improve player experience, responsiveness, and polish

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of Roblox or relevant game development experience
  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and problem-solving
  • Experience shipping features or games in a production environment
  • Ability to work independently on feature development with moderate guidance
  • Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows
  • Availability for regular collaboration during Eastern or Pacific Time business hours
  • Authorization to work in the country of residence
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent development-team experience (nice to have)
  • Shipped games or features on Roblox or similar platforms (nice to have)
  • Game jam or modding experience (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with live game systems, including analytics, economy tuning, and balancing (nice to have)
  • Experience optimizing multiplayer or real-time systems (nice to have)
