Senior Project Developer driving renewable gas projects leveraging WAGABOX® technology at Waga Energy. Focusing on project development across Canada with stakeholder engagement and market analysis.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of new landfill gas-to-RNG projects using WAGABOX® technology in line with Waga Energy's strategic plan.
Develop and implement a specific plan for expansion outside Quebec to support pan-Canadian growth.
Identify new opportunities and build relationships with municipalities and private landfill operators.
Coordinate with the engineering team to design technical solutions tailored to each project.
Develop and present a clear value proposition that creates mutual benefits for site owners and Waga Energy while ensuring robust financial modeling.
Lead commercial negotiations with clients and stakeholders for both new and existing opportunities.
Serve as Waga Energy's ambassador in Canada.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the RNG market and stay informed of developments in the renewable energy sector.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders: clients, partners, and industry groups.
This role requires significant mobility: you will be expected to travel regularly across Canada to meet municipalities, private operators, partners, and clients to develop new opportunities and support existing projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (process, mechanical, biotechnological, industrial, etc.) with a focus on business development, finance/funding, or an MBA
At least 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a strong interest in RNG project business development and landfill gas-to-RNG conversion technologies
Economic and financial modeling in a commercial context
Understanding of the renewable energy market and the regulations and policies governing RNG projects
Negotiation, administration, and management of complex contracts
Market assessment, risk analysis, and planning
High integrity and ethical standards
Strong interpersonal skills
Creativity and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
