Senior Technical Animator implementing gameplay features into the game engine for AAA titles. Collaborating with teams to optimize animation and ensure quality production.
Responsibilities
Produce, maintain, and optimize gameplay animation graphs (NPCs, player controls, combat).
Support and improve the integration of animation assets into the game engine.
Serve as the central point of contact between programming, design, and animation teams.
Collaborate closely with the animation team to define, create, and maintain animation production processes and workflows.
Master the features and tools of the animation system and its editor.
Identify and resolve issues before they impact the development team.
Work within multidisciplinary teams combining art, design, and programming, and document work clearly and concisely.
Act as the first line of content-side support when technical problems occur.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role.
Experience on a AAA title is required.
Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and visually.
Positive attitude and a willingness to contribute new ideas to the team.
Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Unreal Engine, 3ds Max, Maya, and MotionBuilder.
Solid understanding of art asset optimization techniques for game engines.
Knowledge of Python, MEL, MaxScript, or similar scripting systems is an asset.
Strong animation knowledge and excellent artistic sense.
Current knowledge of animation techniques used in game engines and of console game development processes.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
