About the role

  • Account Associate retaining and growing small/medium business accounts for WM, North America's environmental solutions provider. Managing inbound calls, outreach, negotiations, contracts, and customer retention in a hybrid Kitchener role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key point of contact for WM's Small/Medium business customers
  • Retain and grow the team's book of business
  • Manage inbound call requests and conduct proactive customer outreach
  • Prevent customer cancellations and secure updated contract agreements
  • Communicate in a focused and compelling way to drive customer actions
  • Utilize change management processes to support sales activities
  • Allocate time to retention and acquisition goals, requirements, and opportunities
  • Explore alternatives and negotiate mutually beneficial sales agreements
  • Contribute to individual and shared responsibilities in a team environment
  • Navigate multiple systems, sales tools, and processes while accurately documenting customer interactions
  • Use WM sales productivity software tools consistently
  • Analyze reports and handle general administrative duties as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • 1 year of business-to-business account management, inside sales (phone based sales), and/or customer service experience that includes a sales component
  • CRM knowledge (Salesforce) preferred
  • Ability to communicate in a focused and compelling way
  • Ability to negotiate mutually beneficial sales agreements
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems, sales tools, and processes
  • Ability to accurately document customer interactions
  • Ability to use sales productivity software tools, including Salesforce.com/Customer Relationship Management and Pricing Tools
  • Ability to analyze reports and perform general administrative duties
  • Ability to have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for air travel or federal property access
