About the role

  • Business Development Manager expanding WM Canada's waste, recycling, and sustainability solutions across Quebec. Building strategic partnerships and driving sustainable revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across targeted industries and market segments
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of strategic growth opportunities aligned with company objectives
  • Develop market strategies supporting long-term expansion and customer retention
  • Evaluate emerging business opportunities, industry trends, and partnership models
  • Support strategic projects that enhance market position and customer value
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with senior leaders, procurement teams, operations leaders, and key decision-makers
  • Represent WM at industry associations, conferences, customer meetings, and community events
  • Advise customers on innovative waste, recycling, resource recovery, and sustainability solutions
  • Foster long-term customer and commercial partnerships
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, competitive activity, and customer needs
  • Provide business insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Sustainability, Public Sector, Finance, and Customer Experience teams
  • Support complex customer opportunities from initial engagement through implementation
  • Assist with business cases, proposals, presentations, and commercial negotiations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Marketing, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of business development, strategic sales, consulting, account management, or market development experience
  • Proven ability to build executive-level relationships
  • Demonstrated success identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Bilingual (French and English) required
