About the role

  • Junior Project Engineer assisting with project engineering management for Oil, Gas & New Energies projects at Wood. Involves delivery, compliance, and coordination of engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overall project engineering management for the delivery of projects in terms of cost, schedule, technical conformance, HSSEA (Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Assurance), quality
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures
  • Support delivery of engineering excellence through coordination of single discipline engineering deliverables
  • Coordinate multi discipline input to engineering deliverables including Process/Utility Flow Diagrams, Engineering Flow Diagrams and, Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Special Piping Item Lists and Requisition Index.
  • Plan individual work activities and manage time; liaise with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments
  • Report on progress issues to facilitate resolution
  • Alert more senior project engineering personnel in the event of potential delays or changes
  • Participate in design reviews to learn requirements and follow up on actions
  • Support implementation of approved changes
  • Coordinate work of a small team of technical professionals in the delivery of project engineering deliverables; communicate with line managers

Requirements

  • Registered as PEng or eligibility to register as PEng in Alberta
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of broad experience in Oil, Gas & Chemicals projects
  • Must possess a high degree of originality, skill, and proficiency in the various broad phases of engineering application and knowledge of quality management
  • Eligibility for registration in the USA will be considered an asset but is not required.
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now or in the future is required
