About the role

  • Product Manager owning Kin’s insurance platform for policy administration, billing, payments, and APIs. Setting multi-year strategy, modernization roadmaps, API standards, and platform success metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the long-term platform strategy for policy administration, billing, and payment systems
  • Translate business goals into a clear, sequenced roadmap
  • Serve as the platform's primary product voice with engineering, architecture, and senior leadership
  • Align stakeholders on priorities and trade-offs
  • Lead discovery on complex, ambiguous platform problems using data, user research, and business impact
  • Own the platform API strategy, including reliable, documented, and versioned interfaces
  • Drive solutions from prototype through production rollout with data, design, and engineering
  • Write product specifications and user stories for engineering teams
  • Define, own, and evangelize platform success metrics
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement and communicate impact
  • Mentor and elevate other product managers
  • Manage vendor relationships across payment processors and third-party policy administration systems
  • Establish a multi-year platform roadmap and API standards
  • Advance modernization or migration work and unblock dependent teams

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 6 years in software product management
  • Proven ownership of platform or infrastructure products at a Fintech, Insurtech, or similarly regulated financial services company
  • Experience leading platform modernization or re-platforming initiatives
  • Experience sequencing migrations without disrupting dependent teams
  • Technical fluency for architecture discussions and understanding reliability, scalability, and security implications
  • Vendor management experience with payment processors, policy administration vendors, or third-party data providers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to write clearly, present confidently, and tailor messages to the audience
  • Deep familiarity with insurance policy administration systems, billing platforms, or payment infrastructure is a bonus
  • Experience with homeowners, property & casualty, or specialty insurance products is a bonus
  • Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks in financial services is a bonus
  • Must be able to live and work full-time in one of the listed U.S. states, or in Ontario for remote technical positions in Canada
