About the role

  • Broking placement intern helping WTW clients assess, model, and place insurance risks. Preparing submissions, analyzing exposures, researching markets, and supporting brokers across Canadian offices.

Responsibilities

  • Gather information and analytics to assess and evaluate client risks to support placement into the market
  • Create Loss Summaries
  • Review program binders for accuracy
  • Check policies and assist brokers and senior brokers
  • Assist with deliverables for Client Renewal Strategy Meetings and RFPs
  • Research market solutions to identify and develop optimum risk solutions for clients
  • Make initial introductions to carrier and trading partners
  • Develop understanding of core insurance principles and brokerage concepts
  • Adhere to quality and compliance procedures and processes
  • Record and maintain information accurately in appropriate systems
  • Receive initial exposure to and utilize the Broking Platform
  • Interface with customers and collaborate internally with teammates to serve customers
  • Manage time and tasks effectively and deliver accurate work products while accepting direction and constructive feedback

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with a target graduation date of May 2028
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Preferred majors: Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Liberal Arts, Sociology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Analytically driven and detail oriented
  • Aptitude to learn and be proactive
  • Proficient in time management
  • Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without visa sponsorship
  • Most colleagues are expected to go into the office 3 times a week during the internship
