About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the enterprise-wide rollout and adoption of data governance
  • Operationalize a federated data governance model
  • Strengthen Data Stewardship and develop organizational governance maturity
  • Design, document, and maintain data governance processes, standards, and principles
  • Ensure consistent application of practices across different data domains
  • Lead data definition and semantics initiatives
  • Contribute to data classification, data quality, metadata management, and the data lifecycle
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, risk, and compliance teams
  • Align governance with corporate frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to operationalize governance
  • Harmonize practices across data domains
  • Participate in governance committees and promote the adoption of best practices
  • Support and coach Data Stewards and business stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver bilingual French/English training and awareness materials
  • Create practical tools, guides, and learning resources
  • Apply ADKAR or other structured change management methodologies
  • Develop communication strategies for executive, business, and technical teams
  • Continuously improve processes and tools based on KPIs, feedback, and lessons learned

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance and organizational change management
  • Experience in a large organization with more than 10,000 employees
  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, business administration, communications, or a related field
  • Extensive expertise in Data Governance
  • Hands-on experience with data definition and semantics
  • Strong experience in Data Stewardship and defining data-related roles and responsibilities
  • Experience with a federated data governance model
  • Experience designing processes and operating models
  • Experience with data classification, data quality, metadata, and the data lifecycle
  • Experience operationalizing governance with Data Owners and Data Stewards
  • Demonstrated change management experience, ideally with the ADKAR methodology
  • Ability to manage resistance and drive the adoption of new practices
  • Excellent communication, training, and ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Ability to simplify complex data-related concepts for technical, business, and executive audiences
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and sometimes loosely structured environment
  • Mandatory French/English bilingualism – FR 5/5 and EN 4/5, or vice versa
  • Experience with Collibra or a comparable metadata management platform
  • Experience in the manufacturing, transportation, automotive, or aerospace sectors
  • Experience in an international organization operating across multiple continents
  • Experience in a multisite environment
  • Knowledge of Quebec’s Law 25, GDPR, and SOX
  • Valid work permit to work in Canada
