  • Staff Engineer owning smart wallets and account abstraction for Xsolla's Web3 platform. Designing custody, signing, gas sponsorship, and recovery infrastructure for game players.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical strategy and architecture of Xsolla's smart wallet platform, including account model, signing, session management, and gas abstraction
  • Design and evolve the ERC-4337 UserOperation lifecycle, EIP-7702 delegation, deterministic identity-based address derivation, session keys, and permission primitives
  • Set paymaster and gas-sponsorship strategy, including metering, caps, abuse prevention, and fallback behavior
  • Own security for the dApp-facing signer surface, including provider behavior, origin-bound sessions, trust tiers, and transaction/signature confirmation
  • Lead custody and recovery roadmap, including MPC-based custody, passkeys, guardians, and social recovery
  • Drive cross-team decisions on account architecture, SDK contracts, data modeling, and platform reliability
  • Identify and resolve systemic risks involving key management, phishing, reorgs, indexer staleness, bundlers, RPC dependencies, and contract upgrades
  • Define engineering standards, review critical code/contracts/designs, and provide documentation, tooling, and mentorship
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, security, legal, and infrastructure stakeholders
  • Serve as escalation point for complex production wallet and account-abstraction issues
  • Own the smart wallet and account abstraction layer for Xsolla's Web3 platform, including Xsolla ZK and the wallet embedded in Xsolla App

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on understanding of ERC-4337, including EntryPoint v0.6–v0.8, UserOperation lifecycle, bundlers, paymasters, ERC-7562, gas estimation, counterfactual deployment, and ERC-6492
  • Working knowledge of EIP-7702 and its risks
  • Experience building on or extending production smart account implementations such as Safe, Kernel, Biconomy, or Coinbase Smart Wallet
  • Experience designing session keys, delegated permissions, origin binding, revocation, and ERC-7710/ERC-7715
  • Practical command of EIP-712, ERC-1271, WebAuthn/passkeys, EIP-1193, EIP-6963, EIP-5792, and ERC-7677
  • Experience designing or operating a production smart wallet or account abstraction system serving real users and real value
  • Substantial engineering experience at a large crypto product or protocol organization or comparable wallet, exchange, or account-abstraction infrastructure team
  • Experience operating systems where bugs could cause lost funds, with concrete guardrails, reviews, and rollback paths
  • Ability to read, review, and write Solidity account, paymaster, and module contracts
  • Gas-aware design, upgradeability and migration patterns, and experience with external auditors
  • Understanding of L2 execution differences, zkSync-family chains, transaction and fee models, finality, reorgs, RPC, and indexer semantics
  • Strong Go engineering skills, including idiomatic code, concurrency, and performance profiling
  • Ability to design and own TypeScript client-side SDK surfaces
  • Distributed systems experience and understanding of consistency, availability, and failure modes
  • PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and large-scale migrations
  • Kubernetes deployment, operations, and debugging
  • Kafka or NATS and event-driven messaging patterns
  • Git and modern CI/CD practices
  • Production key-management experience with Keychain/Keystore, HSMs, MPC, or threshold signing
  • Solid wallet threat-modeling knowledge
  • Proven ability to lead multi-quarter technical initiatives across teams
  • Track record of influencing architecture and standards beyond the immediate team
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write effective RFCs and design documents
