About the role

  • General Ledger Accountant for a non-profit community health organization in Ottawa. 6-month contract supporting year-end audit, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and recurring adjustments with proper documentation. Perform detailed general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Reconcile program and project financial activity to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy across multiple funded accounts.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Accounting is required. Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, journal entries, and GAAP principles. Hands-on experience with Sage 300 or a comparable ERP system. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and lookup functions.
