About the role
- Senior / Principal Data Scientist role focused on building and scaling GenAI and Agentic AI systems in production. Location: Toronto (Hybrid). Compensation up to $200K-225k base.
Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade GenAI and LLM-based systems. Develop and scale agentic AI workflows and tool-using AI systems. Build and deploy ML/AI models into production using AWS cloud infrastructure. Work with APIs, function calling, and tool integrations to enable AI systems to take real actions. Develop scalable ML pipelines and MLOps frameworks. Optimize models for performance, reliability, and accuracy in production environments. Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to bring AI solutions into real-world applications. Evaluate and improve system performance using monitoring and feedback loops.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Applied AI. Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI / LLM systems (required). Proven experience building production AI systems (not just prototypes). Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. Deep experience with AWS cloud environments. Experience deploying models via APIs (FastAPI, Flask, etc.). Strong understanding of MLOps, CI/CD, and model monitoring. Experience working in product-driven or SaaS environments. Ability to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions.
