About the role
- Senior Security Platform Engineer contract role focusing on HashiCorp Vault deployment, security integrations, and automation using Terraform/Ansible. Hybrid with 1 day onsite in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Lead deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of HashiCorp Vault across Kubernetes/OpenShift. Design and maintain authentication/authorization integrations. Configure secrets engines (KV, PKI, database, transit). Drive automation using Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools. Support platform operations—monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Implement and uphold enterprise-grade security controls. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and infrastructure teams. Contribute to Agile delivery, documentation, and audit readiness.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years in security engineering. Strong background in cryptography, PKI, and secure platform architecture. Hands-on experience with Vault, containerization, and Linux. Solid understanding of networking (TLS, load balancing, ingress). Experience with Python scripting, REST APIs, Git workflows. Cloud fundamentals (AWS or Azure). Nice to Have: Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, etc.), cloud security experience, and exposure to security visibility/monitoring tools.
