About the role

  • Social media specialist creating, publishing and optimizing culturally relevant content for 7-Eleven Canada. Managing campaigns, communities, creators and influencer partnerships across social platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Social Media Marketing Manager in developing and implementing social media channel strategies aligned with 7-Eleven’s business objectives
  • Manage day-to-day execution of social media campaigns, including coordination with agency partners on paid content delivery and scheduling
  • Develop and maintain monthly social media content calendars
  • Create social-first content by developing concepts and shooting, editing and publishing content across social platforms
  • Create agile, low-fi content independently and partner with internal creative and agency teams when needed
  • Capture, shoot and edit low-fi photo and video content using a phone and editing tools
  • Support creator, influencer and UGC campaigns, including coordination, briefing and content approvals
  • Monitor social media performance, analyze campaign metrics and prepare reports with optimization recommendations
  • Manage the 7-Eleven brand community across social platforms by engaging followers, responding to comments and messages, monitoring mentions and sentiment, and escalating issues when needed
  • Monitor emerging social media trends, creator styles, cultural moments, sounds, formats and platform updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in social media marketing, content creation, digital content or a similar role
  • Proven experience developing and executing social media campaigns that have driven engagement and follower growth
  • Strong knowledge of TikTok and Instagram, including trends, formats, creators, sounds and platform culture
  • Demonstrated experience creating short-form social content, including Reels, TikToks or similar formats
  • Proficiency with mobile content creation and editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe or similar platforms
  • Experience managing social media content calendars, publishing workflows and community management
  • Experience with influencer, creator or UGC partnerships is an asset
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and content for different social platforms
  • Strong understanding of Canadian audiences, culture and social conversations
  • Ability to work independently, move quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong creative instincts, curiosity and a “let’s try it” mindset
  • Cooperative and collaborative attitude with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
