Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six software developers.
- Report directly to the IT Director and work closely with leadership across the organization.
- Manage the software development roadmap, priorities, and delivery commitments.
- Partner with business leaders to translate operational needs into practical technology solutions.
- Provide technical leadership on application architecture, systems integration, databases, and development standards.
- Improve software quality by strengthening development processes, testing, documentation, and release management.
- Balance new development, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring priorities remain aligned with business needs.
- Lead the resolution of production issues by supporting root-cause analysis and driving continuous improvements to system reliability.
- Communicate project status, priorities, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership and business stakeholders.
- Identify practical opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and data to improve business performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years leading software development teams.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience delivering business-critical applications, enterprise systems, or other operational software solutions.
- Experience managing multiple technology priorities while consistently delivering results.
- Strong technical judgment, including the ability to evaluate designs, assess risks, balance trade-offs, and guide maintainable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience coaching technical teams and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with business leaders, operations teams, IT staff, vendors, and end users.
