Seeking a NodeJS Backend Developer with 4+ years experience in MSSQL, REST/GraphQL APIs, and Kafka. Hybrid role in Toronto, ON with pay up to $45/Hr.
About the role
- Software Engineer II developing backend systems and APIs for Affirm’s partner integrations. Collaborating in a fast-paced environment with a focus on various integration technologies.
Responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases
- Support peers and stakeholders by collaborating with product management, design & analytics
- Create and monitor metrics to support operations and availability of team’s artifacts
- Engage in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process
Requirements
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems, proficient in Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with building blocks of distributed systems, and technologies like AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes
- Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin
- Capable of turning simple problems into solutions interacting with multiple software components
- Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging code, and providing feedback through code reviews
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
