About the role

  • Staff Software Developer at Air-tek driving complex software solutions in a hybrid environment. Collaborating across teams to deliver scalable systems for the aviation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build scalable, high‑performance systems for aviation operations
  • Define technical problem spaces and set engineering direction in ambiguous areas
  • Lead team based technical decisions, standards, and architecture
  • Drive long-term technical strategy and de‑risk major initiatives
  • Partner closely with engineering managers, product and design to ship software
  • Mentor engineers and elevate team quality and velocity
  • Act as senior on‑call escalation and lead high-severity incident response

Requirements

  • 10+ years building production systems in the cloud
  • Strong experience with **C# / .NET Core** (or similar back-end tech)
  • Proficiency with **JavaScript/TypeScript** and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
  • Experience with microservices, performance optimized or distributed systems, APIs
  • Familiarity with MySQL/MongoDB and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ)
  • CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, TFS)
  • Developer tooling or automation contributions
  • Strong systems thinking, communication, and leadership in fast-paced environments
