About the role
- Staff Software Developer at Air-tek driving complex software solutions in a hybrid environment. Collaborating across teams to deliver scalable systems for the aviation industry.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, high‑performance systems for aviation operations
- Define technical problem spaces and set engineering direction in ambiguous areas
- Lead team based technical decisions, standards, and architecture
- Drive long-term technical strategy and de‑risk major initiatives
- Partner closely with engineering managers, product and design to ship software
- Mentor engineers and elevate team quality and velocity
- Act as senior on‑call escalation and lead high-severity incident response
Requirements
- 10+ years building production systems in the cloud
- Strong experience with **C# / .NET Core** (or similar back-end tech)
- Proficiency with **JavaScript/TypeScript** and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
- Experience with microservices, performance optimized or distributed systems, APIs
- Familiarity with MySQL/MongoDB and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ)
- CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, TFS)
- Developer tooling or automation contributions
- Strong systems thinking, communication, and leadership in fast-paced environments
