Allstate Canada workforce relations lead guiding complex employee investigations, disciplinary decisions, and transitions. Advising leaders across a bilingual Canadian employee population.
Responsibilities
Analyze employee relations trends and provide recommendations on complex workforce relations matters to drive a high-performing workplace culture
Collaborate with Legal, Organizational Talent Advisors, and HR Centers of Excellence to assess and mitigate risks
Support organizational change initiatives by owning the workforce transition process and advising on employee transitions and impacts
Use evidence-based communication and storytelling to advise resolution of complex workforce relations matters through data-driven recommendations
Independently manage a large volume of complex workforce relations cases, including harassment, discrimination, inappropriate conduct, and performance management investigations
Advise on and support disciplinary actions, terminations, and other employment decisions in alignment with applicable laws and company policies
Provide expert consultation to leaders, agents, and employees on performance management, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations
Train, lead critical programs, and design and implement special projects
Partner with HR subject-matter experts on workforce-relations programs and products
May serve as primary contact for workforce transition processes, from initial coaching and counseling through written employee notifications
Requirements
Fluency in both French and English (written and verbal) is required
Ability to conduct interviews, investigations, consultations, and prepare documentation in both languages
Extensive experience conducting complex employee relations and workplace investigations from intake through resolution
Demonstrated expertise in Canadian employment law, employee relations practices, and workforce relations processes
Proven ability to independently manage a high volume of investigations and provide recommendations on disciplinary actions and employment decisions
Experience partnering with Legal, HRBPs, Payroll, HR COEs, and business leaders on complex employee matters
Strong experience analyzing workforce relations data and translating findings into actionable recommendations and business insights
Ability to quickly establish credibility as a trusted advisor and operate with a high degree of autonomy
Previous experience supporting enterprise-wide employee populations across Canada
Experience supporting workforce transitions, organizational change initiatives, and employee-impacting programs is preferred
Workforce relations and employee relations case management expertise
Advanced workplace investigation experience, including harassment, discrimination, and misconduct cases
Expert knowledge of Canadian employment laws, regulations, and workforce relations practices
Experience providing guidance and recommendations on disciplinary actions, terminations, and complex employment matters
Workforce transition and organizational change management experience
Risk assessment and mitigation related to employee and workforce relations issues
Data analysis and interpretation skills
Documentation and case management experience, including preparing investigation reports and maintaining compliant records
