About the role

  • Senior Product Marketing Manager building product marketing for Alternative Payments’ SMB financial operating system. Defining positioning, launches and go-to-market strategy across payments and financial products.

Responsibilities

  • Build the product marketing function at Alternative Payments
  • Define target customers, personas and buyer journeys across products and priority verticals
  • Develop differentiated positioning and messaging based on customer needs, market evidence and product problems solved
  • Partner with Product on roadmap understanding, go-to-market priorities and market introduction of new capabilities
  • Own the product launch roadmap and go-to-market strategy for new products and major releases
  • Coordinate Product, Sales and Marketing from launch planning through execution
  • Build and maintain competitive intelligence covering competitor positioning, pricing, product direction, differentiators and reasons to believe
  • Analyze sales calls, pipeline performance, win/loss data, customer feedback and market research
  • Conduct customer, prospect and Sales interviews and use third-party research, user testing or market studies as needed
  • Create messaging frameworks, sales enablement, objection handling and launch narratives
  • Shape product-led campaigns and launch moments, including webinar and presentation narratives
  • Lead working sessions and align Product, Sales, Marketing and senior leadership
  • Establish processes, workplans and success measures for product marketing impact
  • Use AI and emerging tools to accelerate research and synthesize customer and sales insights

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS product marketing experience
  • Meaningful ownership of positioning, messaging, buyer research and go-to-market strategy
  • Experience independently leading product launches from early planning through market execution and adoption
  • Strong understanding of product marketing fundamentals
  • Ability to build product marketing programs without an established playbook or large supporting team
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Experience with customer interviews, sales-call analysis, win/loss data, segmentation and competitive intelligence
  • Track record of turning customer and market insight into differentiated positioning and messaging
  • Evidence of influence on product adoption, win rates, cross-sell, upsell or entry into a new market
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Curiosity and a detective mindset
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and creating structure in a fast-moving scale-up environment
  • AI literacy and interest in using new tools for research and analysis
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience in MSP, FinTech, payments, startup or scale-up environments is a nice to have
  • Familiarity with Jobs to be Done, Bowtie and PLG frameworks is a nice to have
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to work in the downtown Toronto office 3 days a week, Monday to Wednesday
