About the role

Student Engineer improving safety, quality, reliability, and productivity in Apotex’s pharmaceutical production operations. Coordinating equipment projects, qualifications, SOPs, and cross-functional manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities

Improve production safety, quality, capacity, reliability, cost, customer service, and regulatory compliance
Analyze production processes and equipment with Production Technicians and the Production Technical team
Manage resources to complete projects on schedule and create contingency plans
Coordinate project activities with Production Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and EHS
Coordinate installation and commissioning of production equipment under Change Control requirements
Complete equipment installation and operational qualifications (IQ/OQs)
Identify issues and recommend improvements to production processes, reliability, and compliance
Contribute to maintenance and operational SOP creation
Perform work in compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and established safety standards
Demonstrate organizational values and complete other relevant assigned duties

Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program
Preferred programs: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
Successful completion of third year in Engineering or a related technical field
Ability to work within a team environment
Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Customer service skills
Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
Experience coordinating project activities is considered an asset
Must comply with cGMPs, SOPs, safety standards, quality policies, safety and environmental policies, HR policies, and business ethics requirements
