Packaging Technician operating equipment and executing GMP packaging orders for Apotex, a Canadian pharmaceutical company. Supporting safety, quality, compliance, changeovers, and productivity targets.
Responsibilities
Work as a team member to meet and exceed operation targets in safety, quality, and productivity
Demonstrate safe practices and comply with company values, policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario, and Apotex policies and procedures
Attend safety meetings and apply relevant knowledge to packaging operations
Report safety incidents, near misses, and accidents immediately according to Safe Work Procedures
Perform packaging duties according to Standard Operation Documents (SODs) and regulatory requirements
Access official corporate sources such as ApoWeb for current information and documents
Exhibit Good Documentation Practices and conduct directed quality checks
Report quality deviations and contribute to continuous workplace improvements
Execute Packaging Orders efficiently and effectively
Operate packaging equipment within specifications and communicate equipment problems to mechanical staff
Maintain packaging component supplies during operations
Participate in equipment changeovers, including sanitation, setup, assembly, and disassembly
Select, care for, and use tools, parts, and equipment appropriately
Communicate necessary information timely and accurately
Support the team in delivering expected business results
Follow Global Business Ethics and Compliance, Global Quality, Safety and Environment, and HR policies
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Requirements
Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent
Able to lift weights up to 20 kg
Able to meet the standard physical demands in a manufacturing environment
Proven ability to express oneself clearly in English (written and verbal), understand, and follow verbal and written work instructions without errors
Numeric skills to understand and achieve business targets
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Self-Managed team player with a positive attitude exhibiting cooperation, communication, flexibility and initiative to acquire functional skills
Previous Packaging Operator experience in a GMP environment, such as Food or Pharmaceutical industry, is an asset
Basic experience in the use of internet environment and MS Office tools
