About the role
- Maintenance Worker for Remote Lodge in Ontario performing building repairs and grounds maintenance. Require strong experience in remote maintenance work and driving license.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections of facilities and equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks (e.g., lubricating, cleaning, adjusting components)
- Replace worn or damaged parts before failure
- Repair plumbing issues (leaks, clogged drains, fixture replacements)
- Perform minor electrical repairs (light fixtures, switches, outlets)
- Fix doors, locks, windows, and basic structural components
- Patch and paint walls as needed
- Maintain tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment
- Report major equipment failures for specialized repair
- Ensure proper storage and handling of tools
- Maintain outdoor areas (mowing, trimming, snow removal)
- Keep walkways and entrances safe and clear
- Perform seasonal maintenance tasks
- Perform general cleaning of maintenance areas
- Dispose of waste and debris properly
- Assist with deep cleaning or emergency cleanups
Requirements
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
- Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
