About the role

  • Maintenance Worker for Remote Lodge in Ontario performing building repairs and grounds maintenance. Require strong experience in remote maintenance work and driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of facilities and equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks (e.g., lubricating, cleaning, adjusting components)
  • Replace worn or damaged parts before failure
  • Repair plumbing issues (leaks, clogged drains, fixture replacements)
  • Perform minor electrical repairs (light fixtures, switches, outlets)
  • Fix doors, locks, windows, and basic structural components
  • Patch and paint walls as needed
  • Maintain tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment
  • Report major equipment failures for specialized repair
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of tools
  • Maintain outdoor areas (mowing, trimming, snow removal)
  • Keep walkways and entrances safe and clear
  • Perform seasonal maintenance tasks
  • Perform general cleaning of maintenance areas
  • Dispose of waste and debris properly
  • Assist with deep cleaning or emergency cleanups

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
