About the role

  • General Utility Worker maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, food stations, and inventory at LandSea’s remote BC workforce camps. Supporting safe, well-serviced accommodations for onsite crews.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with camp cleanliness and sanitation
  • Provide first class customer service
  • Participate in safety meetings and report injuries or safety hazards
  • Provide coffee service and stock beverage coolers, snacks, napkins and condiments
  • Clean and organize kitchens, coolers, freezers and dry storage
  • Sweep and mop floors and wipe tables and counters
  • Wash dishes, pots and pans and change garbage
  • Report food, safety and equipment issues to the supervisor
  • Maintain and monitor inventory and records
  • Set up dry breakfast, lunch and snack stations
  • Sanitize and stock coolers, condiments, napkins and utensils
  • Prepare, portion and wrap snacks as required by the Chef
  • Clean and sanitize dining room tables and restock supplies
  • Continuously clean and touch up areas requiring attention

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience, preferably working in remote camps
  • Camp kitchen experience is an asset
  • Must hold a valid Food Safety Certificate
  • Great communication; speak, read and write English
  • Excellent people skills
  • Ability to work independently, effectively and efficiently
  • Team player
  • Work diligently and under pressure
  • Organized with good time management skills
  • Lead by example and have high expectations
  • Must complete LandSea and site-specific Orientation and Health and Safety
  • Must pass Drug and Alcohol Clearance
  • Must pass Criminal Record Check Clearance
  • Must complete Health Questionnaire
  • Valid Government Issued ID for travel if required
  • Ability to perform physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and/or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
