About the role

  • Data engineering manager leading Arc’teryx’s Databricks platform, ingestion, and QA infrastructure. Developing engineers and delivering reliable data solutions for retail, digital, and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of data engineers while maintaining technical involvement
  • Guide technical decisions and architecture for team projects
  • Drive implementation of data engineering best practices and standards
  • Oversee administration, scaling, and governance of the Databricks platform and its data pipelines
  • Build and maintain ingestion frameworks for onboarding and standardizing new data sources
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives
  • Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments
  • Coach and mentor data engineers in technical and professional growth
  • Support hiring and onboarding of new team members
  • Establish and maintain QA frameworks for data quality and reliability
  • Drive adoption of new tools and technologies
  • Manage performance and career development for direct reports
  • Build and scale high-performing data engineering teams
  • Lead technical strategy for data platform modernization
  • Develop automated testing and CI/CD frameworks for data pipeline reliability
  • Establish cross-functional collaboration models between data and business teams
  • Standardize data engineering practices across development teams

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience
  • 4+ years of team leadership
  • Hands-on experience managing data platform infrastructure, such as Databricks, ingestion frameworks, and QA frameworks
  • Strong technical background with emerging leadership capabilities
  • Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for building strong engineering teams
  • Flexibility and adaptability when faced with ambiguity
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada
