About the role

  • Data Governance Architect shaping governance strategies and cloud data architectures for Lovelytics’ enterprise data and AI consulting clients. Leading technical delivery, presales, migrations, and governance implementations on Databricks.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate data and AI governance strategies aligned with business objectives and industry best practices
  • Create, socialize, and implement data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks while ensuring compliance
  • Introduce emerging technologies and methodologies for data governance tasks and capabilities
  • Develop and execute data governance and/or AI governance strategies improving data discoverability, quality, accessibility, usability, AI use case evaluation, and AI readiness
  • Lead migration of complex data architectures from on-premises to cloud environments
  • Establish and enforce data governance practices improving data security and compliance
  • Introduce containerization to enhance scalability and deployment efficiency
  • Mentor engineers, review architectures and code, and guide teams through implementation
  • Lead technical discovery, shape solution architectures, respond to RFPs, and deliver demos and proofs of concept for data engineering engagements
  • Create technical blueprints and recommend tools, frameworks, and design patterns aligned with client needs
  • Partner with sales and account teams to scope engagements, shape technical proposals, and showcase governance expertise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, with 4+ years in a client-facing role, preferably in a professional services firm
  • Mastery in data governance capabilities as defined by the DAMA-DMBOK
  • Certification in governance toolsets such as Unity Catalog, Atlan, or Anomalo
  • Expert knowledge of Databricks and Spark
  • Experience creating proofs of concept, technical presales presentations, and pricing for engagements
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders
  • Experience with Google Workspace, macOS, Slack, and Atlassian
