About the role

  • Senior Data Engineer architecting Azure and Databricks data platforms for TTEC Digital’s client experience solutions. Building governed pipelines, APIs, MCP integrations, and agentic AI data services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and build of end-to-end data platforms across ingestion, cleaning, preparation, transformation, analytics, and activation
  • Architect Medallion lakehouse patterns using OneLake/Delta Lake
  • Own dimensional, normalized, and semantic data modeling for client engagements
  • Design batch and streaming ingestion patterns using Fabric Data Factory, Azure Databricks Structured Streaming, and Event Hubs
  • Identify architectural risk and technical debt, and optimize pipelines for performance and cost
  • Design APIs and data services for governed data activation
  • Design MCP and API-based integrations with front-line systems, Fabric/Copilot Data Agents, and agentic AI interfaces
  • Partner with AI and Architecture teams to expose enterprise data to Data Agents and Generative AI applications
  • Implement data governance using Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog
  • Support production operations and incident response for critical pipelines and activation services
  • Mentor Data Engineers and provide technical direction through code, data model, and design reviews
  • Act as a trusted technical resource to client stakeholders
  • Contribute to reusable frameworks, accelerators, and engineering standards
  • Support presales activities with estimates, proposals, and solution design
  • Evaluate Fabric and Azure Databricks capabilities and recommend their use

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline
  • 5-8 years of experience in data engineering, with strong ownership of production data pipelines on Azure
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark
  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and/or Azure Databricks
  • Experience with Delta Lake/OneLake and Medallion architecture patterns
  • Strong background in data modeling, schema design, and enterprise data architecture
  • Experience designing APIs and MCP-based integrations
  • Experience with orchestration and CI/CD, including Fabric pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, and Azure DevOps
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog
  • Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical design discussions on client-facing engagements
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, large-scale data issues independently
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to technical and client audiences
  • Relevant Microsoft and/or Databricks certifications preferred
