About the role

  • Senior Data Engineer architecting cloud data platforms and pipelines for Arc’teryx supply chain analytics. Leading migrations, governance, observability, and engineering mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex data architectures driving critical business decisions
  • Architect scalable data solutions and optimize data-system performance
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Lead architectural decisions and scale data infrastructure with business needs
  • Design and implement scalable batch, streaming, and lakehouse architectures using Azure Databricks and PySpark
  • Lead migrations from legacy systems to cloud-native platforms
  • Advocate for data mesh principles and dimensional modeling best practices
  • Optimize ETL/ELT workflows for structured and semi-structured data, including Cosmos DB integrations
  • Establish data quality frameworks, monitoring systems, and governance policies
  • Partner with SecOps and FinOps teams on security protocols and cost controls
  • Lead design reviews and backlog prioritization
  • Evaluate emerging tools and drive proof-of-concept projects
  • Build pipelines, integrate data sources, perform transformations, enhance data quality, and deliver dashboards and data products for supply chain partners
  • Collaborate with data platform, architect, ERP, technology, and data science teams
  • Define CI/CD workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and SDLC best practices

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in data engineering
  • Expertise in cloud platforms, with Azure preferred
  • Experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills
  • Hands-on experience in large-scale ETL/ELT
  • Experience with data lakes and NoSQL databases, including Cosmos DB
  • Proven track record optimizing pipelines, implementing governance, and leading system migrations
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD
  • Knowledge of data mesh concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Experience mentoring teams, leading architecture reviews, and influencing technical roadmaps
  • Ability to communicate complex technical strategies to stakeholders and executives
  • Passion for outdoor adventures and alignment with Arc’teryx’s values of sustainability and innovation
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
