Responsibilities
- Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin/Candu Energy procedures and QA programs
- Coordinate and interface with client(s), suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines
- Become involved in conceptual, preliminary and/or detailed design phases to support CANDU and other Nuclear electrical systems and modifications under supervision of a P.Eng
- Prepare technical documents, such as engineering drawings, calculations, design/analysis reports, and specifications
- Participate in review of interfacing discipline’s documentation
- Prepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters if required
- Conduct field walk-downs during different design phases and prepare walkdown reports
- Assist field construction and execution activities, such as field changes and commissioning
Requirements
- Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
- 1 - 3 years of related work experience in electrical engineering and power systems design
- Experience in modelling electrical power systems and use of analysis functions in ETAP or other similar software
- Site experience in construction, or commissioning of electrical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries
- Basic knowledge and experience of CANDU nuclear electrical power systems
- Working knowledge applicable codes and standards such as CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)
- Shall have excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Willing to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW)
