Responsibilities
Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin/Candu Energy procedures and QA programs
Coordinate and interface with client(s), suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines
Become involved in conceptual, preliminary and/or detailed design phases to support CANDU and other Nuclear electrical systems and modifications under supervision of a P.Eng
Prepare technical documents, such as engineering drawings, calculations, design/analysis reports, and specifications
Participate in review of interfacing discipline’s documentation
Prepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials
Provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters if required
Conduct field walk-downs during different design phases and prepare walkdown reports
Assist field construction and execution activities, such as field changes and commissioning
Requirements
Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
Eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
1 - 3 years of related work experience in electrical engineering and power systems design
Experience in modelling electrical power systems and use of analysis functions in ETAP or other similar software
Site experience in construction, or commissioning of electrical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries
Basic knowledge and experience of CANDU nuclear electrical power systems
Working knowledge applicable codes and standards such as CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)
Shall have excellent communication and technical writing skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
