Junior Electrical Engineering Analyst supporting nuclear electrical systems through technical documentation and engineering work at AtkinsRéalis. Involved in design phases and field construction activities under supervision of a P.Eng.
Responsibilities
Prepare technical documents, such as: engineering drawings (including GAs, DDs, EDs), change paper markups, calculations, design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals, bill of materials, design specifications, technical specifications, component specification sheets, commissioning specifications, etc.
Perform engineering work following AtkinsRealis/Candu Energy procedures and QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and interface with client(s), suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines to execute assigned engineering work.
Become involved in conceptual, preliminary and/or detailed design phases to support CANDU and other Nuclear electrical systems and modifications under supervision of a P.Eng.
Support preparation of requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials to support procurement.
Prepare or assist preparation of scope of work and input to bid proposals.
Perform field walk-downs during different design phases and prepare Walkdown reports as required.
Assist field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, closeout, etc.
Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.
Requirements
Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
Work experience in electrical engineering and power systems design for either in the nuclear industry or other heavy industrial environment is considered an asset such as: mining, oil & gas, power, etc.
Experience in modelling electrical power systems and use of analysis functions in ETAP, or other similar software program is an asset.
Site experience in construction, or commissioning of electrical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset.
Basic knowledge and experience of CANDU nuclear electrical power systems is considered an asset.
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, such as of CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) is considered an asset.
Shall have fundamental technical knowledge to resolve engineering issues or technical problems.
Shall have excellent communication and technical writing skills and good ability to interact and communicate (both verbal and in writing) professionally with colleagues, clients and contractors.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
